Amidst live music, tech startups and Sixth Street revelry, there's another bustling community thriving in the ATX. With a little boost from the mainstream success of "RuPaul's Drag Race," Austin has become a hot spot for another generation of artistry -- drag queens. Now, fans of the art form are hitting the streets in droves to become a part of the Austin drag community. From nightly shows on Fourth Street and Red River all the way to Brunch with the "Boys" at Alamo Drafthouse, now it seems you can find a drag show on any given day. To help you find one that suits your fancy, KVUE sat down with seven local artists to dish about our booming drag community. So grab your ones -- or your twenties -- it's time to spill the tea.

Well, I’ve always felt that a lot of modern art was crap, so maybe I let this go.

They proudly celebrate their decadence and degeneracy.
Sick. Austin has always been a little more relaxed than the rest of the state. Someone in the 70s might smoke weed, there was a big music scene, and a naked swimming hole outside of town. But now it has gone full counterculture pervert and socialist like San Fran.
The hell with that national embarrassment for Texas.

it was funny!
i would never go back, though (its sicko, too) but at least the one show was, well, funny .. some guys making complete fools of themselves, gotta say they did a good job of it too, ha ha!)
recommendation... stay home

.....they went to the floor show ( which on every ship had been tame, family friendly) and were surprised by a Drag Queen show!!!
