Many years ago, shortly after my first wife and I were married, she suggested we try tithing. A tithe of a Second Lieutenant's pay didn't come to much, but we started. I've continued to tithe since then, even after her death. When I remarried, my new wife agreed to continue tithing. So far, I have never managed to outdo God in generosity.
