My son had the “purple bears” that he thought would save us when we were in the car at the top of a street so steep you could barely see the road below.

On our last trip to the Outer Banks, as we crossed back on to the mainland, we began to see "Watch Out For Bears" signs. It would seem that the bear population in eastern North Carolina has grown in the last 10 or so years
