Summary
Many conservatives accuse Hitler of being a leftist, on the grounds that his party was named "National Socialist."
But socialism requires worker ownership and control of the means of production.
In Nazi Germany, private capitalist individuals owned the means of production, and they in turn were frequently controlled by the Nazi party and state.
True socialism does not advocate such economic dictatorship -- it can only be democratic. Hitler's other political beliefs place him almost always on the far right.
He advocated racism over racial tolerance, eugenics over freedom of reproduction, merit over equality, competition over cooperation, power politics and militarism over pacifism, dictatorship over democracy, capitalism over Marxism, realism over idealism, nationalism over internationalism, exclusiveness over inclusiveness, common sense over theory or science, pragmatism over principle, and even held friendly relations with the Church, even though he was an atheist.
This is why governments that were fascistic in nature like Spain or Chile, become stable governments when they move towards either a Constitutional Republic or a Parliamentary Republic. In the meantime, post-Communist societies are economic and moral basket cases.
Hitler used the National Socialists to feed his lust for power. If he thought Communists would've gotten him world domination, he'd have been a bigger Marxist than Lenin and Stalin combined.
Poland certainly is not. The Catholic Church stayed strong in Poland even through Communist times. You might have heard of a famous Polish Catholic from that time, Karol Wojtyła? Ring a bell?
Death[edit]
On February 8, 1999, Kangas was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a restroom on the 39th floor of the One Oxford Center, Pittsburgh, home to the offices of Richard Mellon Scaife. Kangas blood alcohol was 0.14 and his backpack contained 47 rounds of ammunition and a copy of Hitler's Mein Kampf.[6][7]
History side note. Porche built the turret for the Tiger II tanks.
As per your recommendation, I just watched that scene on YouTube, but only after clicking past this warning:
“Certain features have been disabled for this video

This from a PG movie. At least they did not ban it entirely.
Very interesting. I’ll have to make time to watch the film when I get a chance.
I’ve been saying for over a decade now just how much modern America is like Germany when the NAZIs rose to power. Some on this forum scoffed when I first started saying it. After Obama got elected, no one challenged me on this. Then we got the homosexualization of America. Too late to stop it now.
I do not believe that all homosexuals are violent, dangerous criminals, but their sexual proclivities go against not just the revealed judgment of God, but also basic laws of nature and of the human conscience. When people persist in sexual perversion in spite of such strong warnings against it, they become much more likely to cast off other behavioral norms of morality and decency. They become desensitized to the pain and suffering of others and become capable of horrific acts of abuse against others.
This and the related Satanism in NAZI Germany opened the door to extreme human rights abuses and atrocities. The left is pushing our nation in the same direction all the while accusing conservatives of the things leftists are actually guilty of.
Christ - where do I start? He had a circle of cronies, some of whom were of exceptional merit (Albert Speer), while others were raging mediocrities (I'm talkin' to you, Hank Himmler). I read something a while back that the Nazis controlled something like 58% of the total German economy, and were trying to figure out how to control the German people's free time.
Common sense over theory or science? He believed in the occult, and surrounded himself with others who did as well (again, reference Himmler).
Pragmatism over principle? "Where a German soldier sets his foot, there he shall stay". He absolutely forbid retreat, even when the consequences were disastrous (e.g. Stalingrad).
Friendly relations with the Church? Sure, he was a Catholic altar boy and choir boy, but he HATED the Church. He was outwardly "friendly" to the church, but he felt they stood in his way, and was plotting to eliminate organized religions at the first opportunity.
This author needs to occasionally crack a history book, or watch "The Hitler Channel". Geez
Eugenics, eh ?
Someone has to send this guy something. A dictionary or ANY HISTORY BOOK.
Yep. In many ways, Republicans and conservatives have been the liberals for half a century.
It’s turned into a bit of a mish-mash with a major rearrangement at FDR, and another at Goldwater, and some lesser ones at other times.
Hitler hated the other lefties. Part of his appeal was in opposing with strength the chaos of the even further left.

Yeah this guy was sane! Flush his works with his life.
The red in the Nazi flag was to attract Communists.
The Nazis got a lot of their ideas from American “progressives.”
That quote shows the author has no idea what he’s talking about.
“eugenics over freedom of reproduction”... Margaret Sanger... Socialist... Tommy Douglas... Socialist... Both believers in eugenics and sterilization to ‘cleanse’ society and eliminate undesirables.
Stalin’s mustache was bushier.
Our society is getting more like the Nazis. We do it via regulation, whereby the government controls everything through rules you can’t repeal made by people you can’t remove.
That’s why Trump’s regulatory cuts have been so hated by the left.
I have read it, and he WAS a lefty.
“That’s him, over there.”
The Nazis got many of their ideas from American progressives. That is leftism.
