A family on vacation in Florida says that they were kicked off their American Airlines flight home to Detroit because fellow passengers were complaining about their body odor.
Yossi and Jennie Adler say they were removed from the flight, along with their 1-year-old daughter, from Miami on Wednesday because passengers told the crew they smelled bad. ABC News reports that airline staff escorted the family off the plane and told them to book another flight after several passengers complained.
All of a sudden, as soon as they took us off, they closed the gate and then they said, Sorry, sir, some people complained you had body odor and were not letting you back on,' Yossi Adler told local news station WPLG on Thursday. Theres no body odor that we have. Theres nothing wrong with us, he added. I want them to own up to what really happened and to tell me the truth.
American Airlines told WPLG that it was indeed the couples body odor that got them kicked off the flight. Mr. Adler and his wife were removed from the flight when several passengers complained about their body odor, the airline told the news channel in a statement. They have been booked into a hotel for the night and given meal vouchers. They have been rebooked on a flight Thursday.
Yossi said he believes there was a religious reason theyre kicking me off the plane, he said in a video. The Adler family is Jewish.
The family finally made it home to Detroit along with their luggage. The airline had promised to offload it when the family was booted from the flight, but the bags didnt arrive until the Adlers were back in Detroit.

Today everyone is looking to get rich in a PC lawsuit. The airlines and private schools will go bankrupt after the coop is completed.
If I were kicked off a plane due to body odor, I think I would just slink away and keep my mouth shut! Take the hotel room, take a shower and get on the next plane they provide. Who wants a reputation like that?
That makes more sense to me than the excuse given to the family.
I would be personally apologizing and getting fresh clothing on and taking a sponge bath in the restroom back at the airport.
Saturday night baths and all. My Dad would take so long to washbasin bathe, he could have taken a shower. Different eras
If they had been members of certain specially-privileged government-certified victim groups, they would not have been thrown off the plane, but those who complained would have been thrown off and sued.
Yep, some peoples stink is so bad they make it hard to breath.
I had a female employee once who had a horrible BO problem. Her co-workers complained to me as well as customers because I was her supervisor. Co-workers and myself dropped hints but it was like water off a ducks back. I finally called her into my office and delicately told her of the issue and asked f it was a medical issue. No she assured me it wasnt and that she showered daily. Well her scent did change from BO though to a heavy smell of kerosene. Weird. She quit thankfully a month or so later and I make it standard policy you will report to work clean and in proper attire. I had one millennial show up in pajamas for work, she was sent home to change.
This is an appetizing thread. Anyone ready for lunch?
I had a woman next to me who had pretty bad gas. I sat up straight so my face was as close as possible the to air vent - which I opened fully. Time moved very slowly.
Great tip. Thanks.
Curry is a lot less unpleasant than a bad case of BO, though. It doesn't tend to gag you.
Yep, that’s the reality of it. And some cultural diets and occupations can may it even worse.
Yes, it is often the food. I was on a project in Zimbabwe. Many locals reeked and showering only helped for an hour or two. The culprit was their staple diet, sadza. This looks like mashed potatoes but tastes horrible and it’s very oily.
Yep — I was on a plane once, with my cat in a carrier under the seat in front. Noticed a horrible stench and was mortified, thinking my cat had an “accident” in the carrier. I checked and couldn’t see anything, cat was sound asleep. After the flight landed, I went to the bathroom to open & check the carrier, nope, nothing in there, and no smell. Proceeded to the luggage area to retrieve my suitcases, the lady who had been sitting in front of me walked over and OMGoodness! it was HER! I can’t describe the stench, it was like I could actually see the smell waves emanating from her body!
It means they needed a bar of soap and instructions on its use.

Fly Saudi Airlines sometimes, if ya get my drift..
In the photo I saw, she was wearing a long knit cap pulled down over her ears and he was wearing all black with the velvet or plush kippa featured by the orthodox. Not those who dress in 18th century garb, mind you, but definitely what folks like the one I mentioned usually wore.
Lack of bathing, deodorant, etc. seems to be considered a sign of piety or unworldiness.
