A 3-year-old North Carolina Boy who had been missing since Tuesday was found alive Thursday night, the Craven County sheriff said.
Casey Hathaway was found in Craven County at around 9:30 p.m., NBC affiliate WITN of Washington, North Carolina, reported.
The Craven County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook that Casey was found by professional search and rescue crews and he is in good health and is being evaluated at a hospital. "He is with his family. Thank you all for helping us #FindCasey," the sheriff's office wrote.
Craven County Sheriff Chip Hughes told WITN that Casey was alert and able to tell authorities his name and age when he was found.
Casey went missing after playing in the yard of his grandmothers home along with two other children, according to the FBI Charlotte office.

Excellent news for the boy and his family!
Where was he these past three winter days?
Apparently, he was just wandering around = more details will be released if there is a risk to the children in the area.
Thanks be to God!
Where’s the rest of the story? Two nights out in the cold?
The “best” of the story is he’s alive!
The ‘rest’ of the story will become available.
Praise God!
He got stuck in some thorn bushes not far from home and was heard calling for his mother.
"In Craven County"... If the reporter doesn't ask the right questions, they become Washington correspondents.
Thank God!!!!
I always look forward to your threads. Whether a joke or good news, they always lift the spirit. Thanks!
Thank you for reporting this - An answer to many prayers!!!!

Lots of good info in that article.
But still need more details.
The article says searchers acted on a “tip” to find the child who was calling for his mother when they found him!!! (tears)
Thank God.
two in one week including the 23 yr old woman here in Boston that went missing from a bar.
Thank you for your thank you;)
I remember when FR showed the number of comments AND views. It was nice to see the numbers - because many of us don’t post comments even though we read the articles and responses. Some threads had hundreds of comments and thousands of views. (The busy days;)
The feature must have used too much bandwidth.
All sorts of thoughts pop up with the “tip” but it could be nothing.
Guessing granny won’t be asked to watch him anymore. Little kids need to be watched constantly or have a fence. Even a fence doesn’t keep them in sometimes.
I read that, too- that he was found after the police received a “tip”. What?! So someone heard a 3 year old crying for his mother and called in a tip instead of helping him? I am shocked and dismayed.
Exactly my thoughts. I hope there will be more info given about this “tip”.....but at least it led to this little boy’s rescue......so good to know he is okay even though he wasn’t dressed for the cold temps that happened during the nights he was lost! The terrain he was in was filled with mud and water holes so this could have ended so much worse.
Right - definitely he won’t be kept by (great) grandmother any more!!!!!
