Jets safety Jamal Adams said he wasn't tying to injure Pat Patriots when he tackled the Patriots' mascot on Wednesday at the NFL Pro Bowl Skills Challenge, reports ESPN's Michael DiRocco.
Adams said he was told that the person inside the costume was hospitalized on Thursday.

[Jamal needs to learn that these mascots are not athletes. And hitting him from behind is just dangerous.]
Doesn’t matter... when the ‘roid rage flares up, they don’t care who;s in the costume.
They showed this on “Fox & Friends” this morning and were wondering if the person in the costume could have been hurt by being tackled without warning from the back. Obviously at that point they didn’t know. Jamal Adams announced he was doing it for all Patriots haters out there.
The person turned around at the last second and was hit from the front, then pancaked by 200 lbs of muscle. People who pooh-pooh that either didn’t watch it or have no idea, none, about physics.
They also said the mascot later tackled him, but we don’t know if it was the same person in that outfit.
He sounded like a bit of a jerk and then walked away, but I just saw that as ‘showmanship’, I don’t think he knew the person was hurt at that point.
I know he is a Jet, but I give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was trying to just do some showmanship, but didn’t realize his size and weight as he did that on some PR pffice person inside that costume.
I admit I could be giving him too much leeway, but...I really don’t think he meant to hurt the person.
Well, the typical nfl player has an iq of about 70-80. So for them to not think, or be oblivious is very understandable.
LOL, I went to a Patriots thing and they had cheerleaders there posing for pictures if you wanted them, and the mascot was there. At some point, I saw the person take the head off, and it was some small gal.
Terry Tate!
“He should be arrested and charged.”
Why? The concept of being a patriot (even mascot) is as bad as wearing a MAGA hat. That mascot was obviously trying to provoke violence. /sarc
Cops standing right there and did nothing. Adams needs to be punished for the assault, physically and financially. You can’t fix stupid but you can make him pay for being so.
I’m sure next season, Gronk will lay the guy out during a game and tell her that was from the girl in the Pats Patriot outfit at the Pro Bowl!
Chivalry still lives...:)
I remember a story from some years ago (I think it might have been from Jerry Kramer’s “Run to Daylight” about his days with the Packers) where Jerry Kramer was injured and couldn’t play.
Kramer’s backup on Green Bay on that year in the Sixties was some rookie, and in the first game they played against the Lions that year, he was opposite Alex Karras, the defensive lineman for the Lions (best one in the league...apparently, a beast by a far margin. Jerry Kramer said he had actual real nightmares about playing against Karras)
The new young guy pretty much held him in check for the entire game.
After the game, being interviewed, the rookie offensive lineman said “He didn’t show me much. I wasn’t that concerned.”
He didn’t know Karras was injured and couldn’t move well.
The next game some months later, Karras was well, and they played again, and Karras absolutely destroyed him, at one point leaving him dizzy on the ground, and as Karras stepped over the stunned rookie, he turned back to look down on him and said:
“How does my ass taste now, asshole?”
Terry Tate is apparently a huge lib, but I laughed at that video for years!
That is a really funny comment.
Video of the tackle. Watch the interaction of the news commentators.

I show those clips to the youngsters in the office, they don’t know how to take it/what to think......
“best one in the league...apparently, a beast by a far margin. Jerry Kramer said he had actual real nightmares about playing against Karras”
Anyone who gave Kramer nightmares HAD to be a bad man. Jerry wasn’t exactly a pushover himself.
IIRC Kramer once played on the kickoff team with stitches in both sides with the understanding he wouldn’t attempt to actually do anything. Something about bonus money or something.
Opening kickoff Kramer takes off down the field and makes the tackle ripping every stitch in the process.
When men played the game.
Even though he didn’t run full speed, and even if it had been pre-arranged, the way his tackle lifted the mascot off the ground and then landed on him seemed likely to be injurious without pads.
It was during the Sausage Race at Miller park at a Milwaukee Brewers game. I remember it.
Thinking?
These guys don't have to think - not that they could do much of that. They get a pass no matter what they do
