Jim Kelly went to 4 Superbowls, lost 2 of them BADLY. Within his time frame Elway went to 5 and won 2. One of the many reasons Kelly, while well liked, is not considered best of his era.
This terribly weak AFC has won 13 of the last 20 SB, admittedly 5 of those are the Pats. But the AFC pretty regularly wins the cross conference too.
In the end what really makes Brady the best ever is change. he’s kept up with the evolution of the game through multiple era, playing on a team that has no set system, and adjusting his games for his aging body. Any other contender for the spot fails on at least 2 of those.
Rediculous assertions not back up by an iota of fact.
If the AFC is so bad, then how come in the Brady Era, in the 9 SuperBowls not involving the Patriots, the AFC is 5-4 against the NPC?
Contrast that to the Kelly era, where from 1984-1996 the NFC won all 13 Super Bowls. The AFC was weak compared to the NFC in when Kelly played. There is no evidence that one conference is better than the other over Brady’s career.
What superstars, outside of maybe Randy Moss, for the tail-end of his career, and maybe Gronk, has Brady had around him? He makes the guys around him better.
Montana had guys like Roger Craig, and Jerry Rice and Dwight Clark.
Yeah. The post Pats drop off. Lots of guys seem great when they play with him, then they go elsewhere for the cash and just aren’t all that. Wes Welker and Deion Branch jump immediately to mind. Especially Branch who was great as a Pat, crap as a Seahawk, then great as a Pat again.
Interesting article from last year
Tom Brady or Bill Belichick: Who contributed more to Pats’ dynasty?
I tend to agree with you
I exaggerated for effect because Brady said he wanted to play until age 45. But for the sake of argument, Drew Brees is 40. Brady is 41. You'd be hard pressed to find another era where two QBs playing at the top form in championship games in the same year are both over 40. You're not suggesting that the leagues doesn't protect the QB more that at any time in the past are you?
Now you’re trying to change the subject. I simply asked how many active QBs are 45 or older - as you implied there were. No big deal. Apparently they don’t exist (45 and older QBs).
Just curious, how many NFL QBs are out there over 45 years old?
