Stay warm!
I saw as much as I could. Cold now, came back inside. That was fun!
13th (Aug/Sep, if there is one) = MAGA moon?
And then there are Blue Moons - I remember a Summer in the eighties, I think in July, when this happened; we could see them both here, and it seemed odd and wonderful to me at the time:

Thanks for posting the thread! I would have missed it if you hadn’t.
OK, then the 13th moon in August could be Blue Sturgeon, but in September, the only possibility would be September 1 and 30, but September 30 would be Harvest Moon, with the September 1 moon unnamed.
You are welcome. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
I enjoyed the eclipse viewing and your funny comments greatly enhanced the experience.
Have a good night FRiend. :)
Space.com is counting them this way (I guess blue moons are always the second full moon):

Good fun, FRiend!
Put me on your Super Blood Wolf Moon ping list for next time. :)
#124. Ah yes, the old Turtle with Elephant Moon. Very rare, yankee.
DC area had clear skies and beautiful red-copper moon. It’s ending now. About 15-20*F with a 20-35 MPH wind. While the orb in space was a Blood Red-Copper Moon, my butt was a Blue Moon. Paging the Marcels, sing me a few bars or get me to one.
Close to zero in the Midwest today
Clear skies in Manhattan, with a few passing cumulus clouds, 14 degrees and winds about 20 - 30 mph. From our roof we had a great view of the moon almost directly overhead, rust-red in color. Last bit of partial shadow disappeared at 1:59 a.m.
Thanks to you Redcitizen for this thread, and to all for the comments. Lots of fun!
Dang it, no the “insignificant other” demanded I attend to her condition Did YOU ride today??? It must’ve been pretty chilly!
I don’t see where the excerpt mentioned last night’s lunar eclipse - just the strange “super blood wolf moon.” Sometimes, if the writers bury the lede, you have to dig it out and put it in the snippet to bring it more to people’s attention.
Rode Saturday for two hours the wind was hellacious.
It wasn’t totally clear. It ended up hazy, enough to see totality but not enough to get the color.
