They aren't the only ones who've done that. Some college professors give themselves rave reviews on Rate My Professor. Movie and TV show producers review their own shows online too.

I don’t trust any Amazon review with less than 100 reviews.

They probably do really like it. Or are they being paid to say it’s good? There’s a difference. Often times people are fans of their company products. Like Swordmaker loving apple. No difference.

Most internet ad hits are from bots written by the site owners. Fake reviews have been a staple of the internet since the first review page was opened. Fscts of life. Everything you see on the net is faked.

I remember catching a judge making comments about election opponent in the paper while pretending to be another person - she forgot and posted as herself under the other name. The opponent filed a complaint with the state Commission on Judicial Conduct but they only gave a reprimand because this judge was very left-wing. They also just gave a reprimand for her trying to use her influence to get other charges against her son dropped.
This (thankfully former) judge did a lot of crazy things and just lost another election but my point is I think people who post glowing reviews about themselves or play similar name games are nuts.

Facebook employees have been caught leaving glowing reviews on Amazon for Facebook's new video-chat device. "Team, team, team!"
Also, nothing lately has reminded me more of 1984 than the two-way video of this Portal. Sure, we've had cameras on our computers and phones for years, but they are usually more deliberately used on a person to person basis. When you couple the two-way portal with FB's murky definitions of privacy, you're getting 1984-like hardware and software.
In my mind, you think the damn thing is shut off, and you do or say something a-politic, and it starts to chide you, or connects you to a Facebook Monitor. Bad, bad, bad.
