If we get one, we will get the kitchen island on wheels that comes with it just so that we can maybe move it a few inches to sweep under it or something. Glad to hear they work well-awfully pricey, but the wood fired ovens are about 500 bucks or more.
A long time desire is to build a roof over the bbq/kitchen patio, but till then we will get a cover to put over it. Do you know if the lid can be lifted off completely, or is it hinged to the egg?
We had about 95% of snow melted on Friday. Green house is holding at around 65 degrees. It has been 75 -100 degrees this week, depending on the Sun. We have had way less sunshine and more cloudy days than usual here.
The lid on a Green Egg is hinged to the cooker. Product details are available on their web site. https://biggreenegg.com/
I use a Traeger pellet smoker. It is a completely different beast compared to a charcoal burning cooker. I’ve been quite pleased with what it will do, and it’s light enough to move around on a smooth surface. I keep it in the garage and roll it out for use. I do want to build a BBQ hut on the deck outside of Mrs. Augie’s sun room, but that project hasn’t yet made it to the top of the list.
The blizzard that was predicted to hit us has turned out to be vaporware. We got a very light dusting of snow overnight, but no accumulation to speak of.
The predicted cold, however, is upon us. I have plenty of firewood, but I do need to check the propane tank. Cold showers are no fun.
