I live a mile from here and just had 2 of them jump up on my dock. They travel through the pipes from lake to lake so it could be the same ones.

Is the term ‘Otter’ the same as ‘Cougar’?

I’ve been up close to a few river otters in Alaska - 50 lbs. plus - nothing to mess with.

Reminds me of the joke where God says “I’ll never get the smell out of the fish.” After Eve went wading in the water. The otter must have thought she was a fish.

Sounds too larges for an otter. Maybe a 'fisher cat'. They can be quite aggressive...............

Steve Irwin said something like he would rather deal with a 1000lb croc than a 20 lb otter.

South of Orlando, my mother once had a similar experience in the backyard at our home on a lake. Seeing our family’s small dog and an otter chasing each other around a large tree, she intervened and scooped our dog up and out of the way. The otter stopped, looked at her, and then scurried a few feet down to the shore where its two young were waiting. Mercifully, no one got bit.
