In her 25 years of marriage to Jeff Bezos, MacKenzie Bezos has been a loyal ambassador for Amazon, the company that made her and her husband the richest couple in the world.
She was an integral part of its origin story, driving to Seattle in 1994 while Mr. Bezos sat in the passenger seat, working on the nascent companys business plan. She was Amazons first accountant and was involved in its transformation from a small online bookseller to the e-commerce behemoth it is today, the second company in American history to be valued at over a trillion dollars.
Ms. Bezos, 48, is a novelist. But Amazon has defined her public image almost wholly. The announcement this week that she and her husband would be getting a divorce may soon change that. A statement signed Jeff & MacKenzie, which was first posted to Mr. Bezoss Twitter account, read: After a period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends.
The couple, who have four children, wrote that they see wonderful futures ahead, as parents, friends, partners in ventures and projects, and as individuals pursuing ventures and adventures.
Over the last few decades, as Amazon grew, Ms. Bezos appeared with her husband at some high-profile events, including Vanity Fairs Oscar parties and the Golden Globes; in 2012, she was a host of the Met Gala. (Amazon also underwrote the event.) But for the most part, Ms. Bezos has guarded her privacy, preferring to focus on writing and her children. She could not be reached for comment on this article.

GMTA!
“Eddie......I want to talk to yooooooo!”
“She worked hard and she was an important factor in Amazons success”
LOL, if you want to give her half, just say “in the name of the sisterhood she should get half of Amazon”. But please, lets not pretend this woman with a BA in English was an -important factor- in the success of a giant tech/marketing/delivery/information services company started with CIA seed money.
Same image, but I manually changed the height and width to get rid of the anamorphic distortion.
She worked hard and she was an important factor in Amazons success
She deserves half of the couples assets.
I think there’s a song in there....

“She deserves half of the couples assets.
That is what marriage is all about - if you’re lucky.”
Well, nice to have it out in the open finally.
Yeah.....old, squint-eye Jeffy explored, alright.
Bezos got caught texting photos of his junk to his well-siliconed/Botoxed hoe.
I doubt there is anything loving about the Bezos separation and divorce.
I dont know if that is true or not. I dont care about either of them and dont like what Bezos has done. But we dont know if his partners existence made a difference or not. She was there; she was part of it. Or he shouldnt have had her there.
If you wish humanity to pair off and have families, you need to include the wife and kids in the husbands success during said marriage. If not, you discourage marriage and spending quantity time raising the next generation.
You cant have it both ways. Either the little family farm or the Amazon empire belongs to both members of the couple, or we wont be able to have working marriages/families at all.
Jeff, what were you thinking? And with which brain did you think?
At first glance, I think she’s prettier with long hair. At second glance, I’m reminded that a pretty girl is pretty even with no hair. See, for example, Persis Khambatta in “Star Trek: The Motion Picture”.
And he’s the friggin’ dumbest, most idiotic “genius” to ever walk the face of the Earth.
He aged into an uglier nerd, while McKenzie has improved like a fine wine.
Good luck with your new gold digger pal, Bozo.
I think this is (at least) her third step up her Lad ladder, isn’t it?
Wearing her hair long really improved her looks. But then again I have a thing for long dark hair on women.
“Shes very attractive. Hes an IDIOT.”
After she chopped her hair off, less so. And no matter how attractive she is, are you sure she was still happily servicing the account?
Imagine being one of the wealthiest men on earth, and you can have anything you want, I mean *anything*, except a tumble in the hay. I would guess that would be extremely frustrating to look down from your BBJ777max, with your Amazon Hubble telescope, and see guys like me enjoying things that he cannot have. The one thing he wants. Can’t have...
I just can’t understand his choice. but shes older than his wife, and more homely. You’d think chicks would cheer that.
Inscrutable, that’s what they are.
Working hard qualifies a person for half of Amazon’s assets?
How about all the other women who worked hard while they were at Amazon and didn’t get to live the high life like she did?
How much should they get?
Oddly, unlike most men who go middle-aged crazy he didn't trade his wife in for a newer model. Both women are about the same age.
Very well said.
How can a guy so smart in so many ways not know how terrible an idea this is?
See my previous comments regarding hair.
And there’s no excuse for adultery, ever, regardless of who commits it. There may be pathetic small-souled explanations, but no actual excuses.
“If you wish humanity to pair off and have families, you need to include the wife and kids in the husbands success during said marriage.”
But I thought women wanted equality, and did not need a man, and you go girl... Guess the old way of thinking was correct after all. They are helpless and have to be able to get paid.
And Brittany Spears would have never created her fortune without K Fed back there behind her, jamming out with the backup dancers! LOL
