Wow, I had no idea cruise ships went to Haiti.

Labadee. Royal Caribbean has a private resort-type destination there. Beach, water sports, souvenir shops, dining, things like that. It's not like they mix with actual Haitians in their natural habitat or anything like that.

They stop at a very secluded private resort area with all sorts of water recreation and a zip line from a high hill over water to a beach. Only well-scrubbed locals allowed in to run shops and concessions.

A break for the cruise line, as it didn't happen in an American port. The Cruise Line wouldn't be registered in this country anyway, and have to endure tons of regs. , bureaucrats , the American press and ambulance chasers getting involved. - Tom;

Went on my first & last cruise in September. Royal Caribbean Influenza of the Seas.

Got sick the day I left the ship and the next day was in the hospital for a week. 3,000 bodies crammed on one ship means contagious transmission very likely.

Never again. BTW alcohol prices are a total ripoff so I went cold turkey for a week. Didn’t help.
