California set to seize 1,100 miles of coastline

The California Coastal Commission is set to empower local government to take thousands of properties through eminent domain along 1,100 miles of coastline to prepare for sea level rise.

Despite California being battered by 4-8 inches of torrential rain and flooding from an El Niño weather cycle, E&E News reported that the State of California in late January will authorize eminent domain authority for local jurisdictions to implement a “managed retreat” policy that will allow taking and demolishing coastal homes and businesses. […]

CCC retreat guidance is expected to also entail dismantling and relocating of dozens of wastewater treatment and power plants; 250 miles of highway; 1,500 miles of roads; and 110 miles of railways, according to the latest California Special Districts magazine. […]

The supposedly settled science that climate change is melting the poles and causing massive sea level rise has come under severe scientific scrutiny over the last few years. The doomsday models of climate change scientists are having a difficult time explaining why the European Alps are currently experiencing the heaviest snowfall in 100 years, the Arctic polar bear population is increasing, and the Greenland ice sheet just grew to its sixth highest surface mass on record. …

... California Coastal Commission's guidance will allow local jurisdictions to fund the cost of using eminent domain to manage their retreat by "buying the homes and then renting them out until they're damaged."

That should be a nice perk for the upper echelons of the state government.

Dems know that most Californians wouldn’t dream of voting GOP. This emboldens them, their arrogance is staggering.

I guess the lunatics there are merely being lunatics. Good luck to the minority there who aren’t so afflicted.

We had something similar happen here. Some guy wanted to protect the Ozarks from housing additions so he lobbied to have a beautiful area of mountain ranges protected. It passed. No one can now spoil the view there by building houses.

But guess who already had his property bought with the great view and was able to build on it...The man who lobbied for the law.

Streisand lives on a high Bluff overlooking the Pacific, not down on the Beach.

She won’t be affected, she’ll be all for it.

Bad science causes bad legislation. Deprivation of property rights is justified by phony computer projections. California is insane.

But Nossaman expects that the California Coastal Commission's guidance will allow local jurisdictions to fund the cost of using eminent domain to manage their retreat by “buying the homes and then renting them out until they're damaged.”

So they can take the homes at reduced values because of the supposed threat that they will be sucked up by the ocean, and then they can rent them to connected people for discount prices. What could go wrong?

That's what Communist, Socialist and assorted dictators do, they seize, penalize, fine, ban, tax, regulate and censor everything they don't approve or want to eliminate.

But that's not radical enough so they threaten the President and his family on a regular basis, tear down our monuments, our borders, destroy our sovereignty, undermine fair elections and then use their hired guns in government to overthrow Trump, as they accuse all the presidents supporters of being evil Nazis.

Since the Trump era, that is exactly what the Democrat doctrine is all about.
