3:55 PM -- The first photo of Jayme has surfaced ... showing her smiling with her aunt and godmother, Jennifer Naiberg Smith. As we told you ... they were reunited this afternoon at the hospital where Jayme was being evaluated.
1:57 PM -- Officials say cops recovered a shotgun consistent with what was used at the scene of the homicide. Cops say Patterson -- who shaved his head after allegedly killing Jayme's parents to hide from cops -- shot the door open.
Cops say Patterson had a small connection to Jayme's parents -- working at the same turkey processing plant as them for one day three years ago -- and he intentionally went looking for her. Cops say it's unclear right now why Patterson targeted Jayme. Patterson will make his first court appearance Monday in Barron County court.

Heard on Fox News the ONLY known connection between the perp and the parents is the perp worked at the same facility the girl’s father worked at, for ONE day, and he quit..so why did he pick this girl and why kill the parents..reminds me of the case in Idaho but that was a sex offender who was driving by, saw the kids and decided to kill the family in order to get the children

That would be the best as they aren’t a death penalty state, unless it’s death by old age
The girl and her family didn’t live a few houses down.
They lived sixty miles away, in another county.
The only thing that does figure is that the girl is evidently shy and withdrawn. He may have been driving over to a larger town and seeking a probably compliant victim among the rural school kids.
What has this poor little girl been through? And now no parents. Thank Gd she is alive but this won’t be easy. I hope Elizabeth smart is available - I know she is excellent with other kidnap victims like this.

The cops will still have to check her social media, cell phone etc. to see if this young girl knew her “kidnapper” before she was “abducted”. Sadly we live in strange times.

It is standard in investigations of yet unsolved crimes for the investigators to hold back certain details of the crime that ONLY the perp would know. Sometimes total transparency needs to wait in the interest of justice.
In a more enlightened and just time this maggot would already be dead, his body dipped in tar and hung from a lamp post.
There are times I believe vigilantism is the right thing to do when the cops can’t or won’t.

The cops have said repeatedly that she did not know him. The first thing they checked three months ago was her social media.
I think when all of the police investigations are done....you will find that this guy has a marginal IQ, and probably relates more to being 9 years old.
The problem is that once he gets convicted, unless they go for the death penalty....he’s an open target in the prison system.

This is a parent’s worst nightmare. I don’t have daughters, just step daughters. But I think... what would it have been like for me and my [first] wife? An absolute stranger. My teen girl ( or girls). Some one we didn’t know, she didn’t know, coming after us and our family, out of no where....
Horror movies are made about this kind of thing.

Wisconsin does not have a Death Penalty, but we do have two things going for us:
Other prisoners are very good about killing scum on a lower rung; it’s called being, ‘Dahmerized’ and...
...our Supermax prisons are Hell On Earth. One hour out of your ‘box’ out of 24, every day, for the rest of your miserable life.
Killing someone isn’t, ‘justice’ for their victim; I know prison is SUPPOSED to be about ‘rehabilitation’ but if that actually worked, no one would ever come back. ;)
Possible - them shotguns have a decent “Kick” - maybe that allowed them to fudge on facts....
