PARIS - A 50-year-old French author is under fire on social media for saying he couldn’t love a woman his own age.
According to USA Today, BBC News and other outlets, Yann Moix made the controversial comments in a recent interview with Marie Claire France.
"I'm telling you the truth," the TV host and "Rompre (Breaking Up)" writer said in French. "At 50 years old, I am incapable of loving a 50-year-old woman."
When asked to explain, he said: "I find that too old. When I'm 60 years old, I'll be able to do it. Then 50 years old will appear young to me."
But for now, women his own age are "invisible" to him, he continued.
“The body of a 25-year-old woman is extraordinary,” he said. “The body of a 50-year-old woman isn't extraordinary at all.”
Outraged women flocked to Twitter to slam Moix, calling his words sexist.
Who wouldn’t want to have the body of a 25 year old again. There was a twilight zone episode about that. TY I will keep my mind and experiences. If i follow my family I have another 25 years left. I’m glad I am old. Child of 50s and 60s. Grew up with faith, family, patriotism,respect.
So sad to watch my beloved country go down the drain.

He has a right to his own preferences just as anyone else does. If he doesn’t like old lesbians then that’s his business.
For me it’s my personal experience and observing my peer group.
I’m under no doubt whatsoever that women’s sex drives collapse at a certain age whereas men’s remain relatively steady.
If your wife is unique like you than you’re lucky buddy and the exception which is why I generalized
I don’t know one man over fifty who claims he and his wife are on the same network sex drive wise unless she’s much younger
I’m sixty one and have been married twice and have five children
I had major experimental heart work in Chicago last April which besides keeping me alive did wonders for my pipe resiliency but I sure have nothing against ED drugs except they are crazy expensive but alas sildenafil now truly is made generic in 20mg according to my pharmacist friend
Speaking of which why would horny women complain of ED meds.....it bears a question to my mind

However when it is YOUR 50 year old guy, different thing entirely. You see him as the guy who stood beside you through thick and thin. The one who held your hair when morning sickness was making you throw up your toe nails.
The one that you kissed when he returned from deployment.
When you have built a life together you don't see the body so much as you see the soul.
Maybe he should find someone to build a life with.
Or he can keep chasing young girls who will only have sex with him for personal gain. And laugh at the pathetic old geezer.

I think you are right, but regardless, if he has no interest in anything romantic with women his own age he may be destined to be a lonely old man. I say that as somebody in the same circumstance who has no interest in women in their mid-fifties or forties for that matter.
True, but if he’s not interested in some fifty year old why should he waste their time. Would you want to be going out with somebody who found you repulsive romantically?
