Trevor Lawrence passed for 347 yards and three touchdowns and the second-ranked Tigers beat No. 1 Alabama 44-16 on Monday night in the College Football Playoff national championship game.

Clemson played a better game last night.
And that’s what counts.
I was rooting for Bama.

You and me both, but not nearly as big of a grudge as my wife holds.
We both were very happy with the results.
Sabin with 218 wins ranks 56th in coaches with over 200 career wins.
But far from the top winner at 489 wins.

Blaming Saban ignores the fact Clemson is just better at this point in time, in all phases of the game.
Here’s the sad part: because both Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) and Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama) will be back next season, I’m not sanguine on the chances anybody else will have a decent chance to make it back to the 2020 game at the Superdome in New Orleans.

I didn’t watch much of the second half. Just enough to know that Alabama wasn’t able to make their typical “adjustment” at the half. They came out weaker than they were in the first half.

I'm reminded of what Trent Dilfer of Elite 11 said about Tua. He said that Tua would not lose one football game in his entire college career.
Yeah baby! Alabama has a good team but I am tired of seeing their blitzkrieg tactics and their brooding mercenary head coach. Clemson and their head coach are so much more warm and human...great victory for Clemson players, coaches, and fans....

A month or so ago I would have said the same thing - no one would beat Alabama this year.
Unlike most SEC teams, we won our bowl game.
The warning signs were there in that first half against The Citadel.
