I am 99% sure Pepe Le Pew’s voice was a cover of Maurice Chevalier.

Shameful reinforcement of the smelly oversexed Frenchman stereotype.

I don’t expect him to last much longer.
Not in this #MeToo day-and-age.

I always liked the way he squeezed his tail and the stink would squirt out the tip of his tail. That’s not the way it works in real life but in cartoons it’s just plain funny.

Speedy Gonzalez was executed many years ago.
Speedy his siesta-appreciating buddies were born in the mid-50’s but didn’t even make it to Y2K, dropped right down the Memory Hole upon orders from on high.
Can’t find any humor in ethnic stereotypes, ya know.

Not Chevalier. Charles Boyer, who played Pepe le Moko in the 1938 Warner Brothers movie “Algiers.”

Which is still a good movie. Although not as good a movie as Casa Blanca, which was concieved to try and capitalize on the success of Algiers.
