Excerpt and Link from the FR Forum: Millions could face severe cuts to food stamps due to government shutdown

CBS News ^ | January 6th, 2019 | By Grace Segers Posted on ‎1‎/‎6‎/‎2019‎ ‎9‎:‎29‎:‎17‎ ‎AM by Mariner

The partial government shutdown glided into its third week Saturday with no end in sight.

If the government is not reopened before February, millions of Americans who receive benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) -- the nation's food stamp program -- could have their assistance disrupted.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, which oversees SNAP at the federal level, is one of the agencies unfunded during the partial government shutdown.

Although SNAP is automatically renewed, it has not been allocated funding from Congress beyond January. Congress has appropriated $3 billion in emergency funds for SNAP distribution, but that would not cover all of February's obligations.

In September 2018, the last month for which data is available, $4.7 billion in SNAP benefits were disbursed throughout every state. If the shutdown continues through March, there will be no remaining funding for SNAP, endangering food security for millions of Americans.

Malaysia’s king Muhammad V has abdicated, becoming the first ruling monarch to resign from the throne in the country’s history.

The 49-year-old stepped down on Sunday after weeks of mounting speculation that he was to leave the throne.

It followed his decision to take a two month break – beginning in November – in which he is rumoured to have married a 25-year-old Russian model, Oksana Voevodina, in Moscow.

Or maybe he heard his American funds are drying up?

Q and Rush continue to say, “they want you divided” and “they want to dovide Trump’s base”.

^Most^ welfare recipients are the Dhimmi base?
Trump, in essence, is dividing them, dividing the Dhimmi base.

Early February might be a BOOM.

So how many will call their Dem Congress Person and demand they give Trump the money? Spread the word. The Dems favor illegals over American citizens. The Dems won’t protect the American public from illegal incursions across our border.

Nice trips ;-) Congrats on 1000.

If the shutdown continues through March, there will be no remaining funding for SNAP, endangering food security for millions of Americans.

If SNAP is so important, the states should take up the slack. And design a more sensible program, without the "give milk to every kid every day whether they want it or not" mandate, for example. I've seen enough milk dumped in the trash by schools to float a battleship.

” In Nov 2018..$4.7 billion in SNAP benefits were disbursed throughout every state.”

We’re funding these people (no doubt 33% receiving fraudulently) $4.7B PER MONTH while we go begging for a WALL???????
