As I mentioned in an earlier post today, I emailed President Trump to let him know that I expected him to stand steadfast in his commitment to the wall on the southern border. I described to him the low quality of people coming over that border, which I experienced from my position of educator in the NYC public school system. And I mean LOW. I reiterated my desire for the wall, in conclusion.
I guess his aides are working overtime to read all emails and letters addressed to him, as I received a boilerplate reply only a couple hours later:
"Instead of setting politics aside and putting the safety of our country first, Democrats in Congress have continued to obstruct. In doing so, they have refused to come together with Republicans to pass commonsense legislation that provides adequate funding to secure America's borders and prevent a partial government shut down.
As I have said throughout this process, I remain committed to finding an agreemnet that reopens our Government and ensures that our Nation's borders are safe and secure.
I urge Congress to rejoin me in Washington to immediatly pass appropriations legislation that properly addresses the critical issues affecting our Nation's security and prosperity.
Thank you for your email."
The typos are the White House's errors, not mine. They include one in the word "agreement" and in the word "immediately".
I think you should be glad that they read your email, paid attention and replied promptly.
The reply is perfectly fine, letting you knoe that he is staying firm about the wall and was glad that you wrote him.
I received the same boilerplate. No big deal.

What do I think? I think you're a fool to expect a personal reply to an email, one of which is probably hundreds of thousands more that the White House receives...........Sheesh!
As for me, I'm pissed off that Melania never responded to my request for her favorite cookie recipe.........What do you think of that?
My hunch: legislation will stay at a stand-still. Senate can still approve presidential appointments, like judges. Trump can get “things” done via executive order. House investigations, subpoenas, and 9th Circuit orders? Trump can claim executive privilege and tell them to go to Hell. It could get very interesting.

Any politician receives tons of mail, and it is unusual to receive anything other than a boilerplate reply.
I only ever once received a reply that seemed to be a direct response to what I had written. That was from Kay Bailey Hutchison.
Now send the same email to Romney and let us know what you get.
You can set up email to reply automatically. Not likely someone actually read it unless you put certain key words in there, like bomb, shoot, etc..
Why do you think what bothered me was the fact this was a boilerplate? What bothered me--let me make it clearer for you--was the lack of specificity in the email, promising a wall, not some nebulous reference to border security. With the volume of correspondence coming in, I would hardly expect a personal reply.

Once the rank and file RATs stop getting their crumbs that is when RAT leaderhip will be forced to back down. Either that or the fools that vote for RATs will eventually learn to make money on their own, firmly removing themselves off the RAT plantation.
