Jordan and Dave Rubin leave Patreon.
You Tube ^ | 1/1/19 | Dave Rubin and Jordan Peterson

You really need to understand this issue. Its Mastercard demanding Patreon dump someone for something he said. Not on Patreon, or on You Tube. He just undered the word N***R and Mastercard insisted that anyone associated could not use their service. Also, others got the same treatment.

The right to conservative speech is really being threatened hear. It seams being Male, White, Christian, or conservative is grounds to being thrown out of society.

Freepers are lucky to have FreeRepublic. But its interesting to see if even FreeRepublic can continue if they were so attacked.

An effective resistance to Leftist tyranny would identify the individual who made the decision and leave parts of him scattered over the countryside. There is simply no innocent, non-despotic explanation for such an initiative on the part of Mastercard. Why is it their business what someone says on YouTube?

Reason #3 why I don’t have any CCs. I’m debt-free and use cash of check. (No, I’m not Dave Ramsey.)

So, if I understand this correctly:

Do I have that right?

My first thought was that FR is not vulnerable in that way, but if the banks refuse to open or maintain an account or to make the transfers...

So I guess that pretty much says who's in charge.

MONEY as Liza and Joel would say.

Actually, the case in point was not Richard Spencer, but Sargon of Akkad?

I had the opportunity to walk through my old high school twice recently. When I attended, you would NEVER have heard the N word. Never. There was a light mix of minorities but mostly Jewish white kids with some $. We kids would have been horrified to even hear such a word back then, for real.

This time, both times I heard the n word LIBERALLY used among the groups of black kids talking amongst themselves. I was actually shocked. I guess the teachers don’t say anything. I was clearly an adult and the students didn’t lower their voice or change their speech when I walked by.

There shouldn’t be any word that is considered racist or foul EXCEPT WHEN THOSE OF WHOM WE EXPECT LESS SAY IT. To me, that is racist!

I wonder what would happen if you started slinging the N word around here at Free Republic?

I have walked the walk on this, and pulled my accounts of some forty years out of Bank of America for their political advocacy of leftist causes (signaling they would not take part in financial transactions with manufacturers of civilian “assault weapons)

In this case, if I am reading their stance correctly, I fully support it (even though it appears on the surface that Mastercard is the issue, not Patreon, who appears to be hamstrung by their terms of agreement. That isn’t a given, though, they might just be using that as cover?)

What is needed (as I have heard Dan Bongino state) is a conservative alternative to something like Patreon. And they don’t have to support only conservative causes or customers, they could take even far left customers, but would state that their terms of agreement will not allow them to be pressured in the manner Patreon was.

Basically, a politically-neutral site.

The left was for free speech when they had complete domination over mass media.

They no longer have complete domination, so they are pulling out all stops to censor conservative speech using their corporatist power and the SJW.

They are willing to pull down the temple of Western Civilization, without having any replacement.

I will be supporting Jordan Peterson and Dave Rubin.

Please keep posting updates.

I used to do a lot of work at public housing projects in Minneapolis and St. Paul. The young black kids, 5-6 year olds, called each other N___ constantly. If I called them that I would still be in prison.

(Richard Spencer is the prime example?)

One of the key points is that Richard Spencer did *not* do what he is accused of. It was all simply false, made up.

The key here is the accusation by sufficient people on the left, is sufficient.

No facts need apply. No appeal. No law. No due process.

I have never in my life felt compelled at all to use the "N" word, much as I never use the "C" word.

When I was about seven, I had this interaction with my dad, which I included in his eulogy when he passed on:

I had a memorable encounter with my dad. It speaks volumes to me about my father, but at the time, was most puzzling because of its nature. When we lived in Virginia, I was about 7 years old, and had walked a couple of miles to a candy store that was in a part of our town that was much poorer, and predominately black. When I came home, my dad asked me where I had been, and I said, “Oh, I just went over to N*****rtown to get some candy…”

In a very swift motion, my dad grabbed me, one big adult hand around each skinny seven-year-old bicep, and drew me towards him so that my nose was probably less than a foot away from his nose. The term today for this was “In my face”. This was very close, and VERY unusual. He never dealt with us like this. I will never forget the look on his face, it wasn’t anger, and I didn’t know what it was. And the tone of his voice when he spoke was a tone I had never heard before. There was something else, not anger, but something. I didn’t know what it was at the time. My father looked at me, directly in the eyes, with his eyes the unwavering steely blue that they were, with this very foreign, strange and unusual look in them, a sharpness or brightness that was totally unrecognizable to me at that age. He gave me one shake, not a hard one, a gentle one, and said to me in that odd voice:

“Don’t ever think that you are better than someone else just because you were born with a different color skin.” He released me, stood up to regard me for an instant then walked away without another word. I remember just standing there totally confused about this strange encounter. I had never seen him look at me that way or speak to me that way. I remember it as clearly as if it happened this morning.

Now that I am older, I think of that encounter and I know with certainty what the look he had in his eyes was. I know what the odd tone of his voice was. It was passion. My dad had passion, and never, ever showed it to us as kids. But just that once, when I was a child, a door had cracked open (I am sure quite by accident) and I had seen the light that escaped. Before I could go and look inside, the door had snapped shut and sealed tight. I never got a chance to see into the room sealed by that door until many years later. By then, I was no longer surprised by what I saw. I had made the transition from viewing my father as a parent to viewing him as a person.

In my life, I have viewed both the "N" word and the "C" word in much the same way. They are not used to convey any message apart from hate and spite. They are used only to intentionally cause pain. So I have never had any use for those terms, or for people who use them.

Agreed. It is punishment based on anti-1st Amendment standards, which the Left has adopted because they cannot legally get around the 1st Amendment.

Yet.

Mastercard is a corporation. It depends upon its issuers, mostly banks and other financial institutions, for the flow-through that makes it the money that it needs to survive. The diffuse nature of these institutions is why it is hard to call them to task for this punishment of free speech by conservatives. Somewhere in their corporate structure, the LEFT has gotten editorial and financial control.

As a consequence, I am protesting to my credit card issuer, USAA, that their exclusive choice of Mastercard is causing me to discontinue its usage. If we all do the same, perhaps we may make a difference!
