>>Pence was right there in the chair behind where Trump was going to sit
Thought about that and keep coming back to the realization that if it were me, and I’d seen Pence frequently recently, I might think it would be okay to not twist awkwardly in my chair in front of dozens of cameras and concentrate on the people that I see infrequently and can look more comfortable while greeting. He knows the camera is ALWAYS looking for his bad and awkward moments.
Looking for Trump’s good photographs, I’m shocked at how many bad photographs are put out there. It’s as though they know there’s a never ending market for ugly photos of Trump.
Re: Trump not greeting Pence at the funeral:
I think it’s a good point that more than likely they had seen each other recently - perhaps even that morning. It would make sense that Trump’s acknowledgement of others would be more obvious than of someone he had had a conversation with or seen immediately before. It could even be an eye movement or expression, something imperceptible to the camera angle from behind him.
Well, it’s a good point. However, POTUS very well could have shook hands with Pence before he sat down. At one point he was standing and faced Pence. It would have been very easy to at least acknowledge him-with even just a nod-he did not.
I wondered if they had had an argument-it seemed like a deliberate cold shoulder to me. But again. Maybe not.
