I dont like to mix politics and rocknroll. I dont look at Bono, Sting and Bruce Springsteen as political. I look at them as being humanitarian. Ill contribute to anything humanitarian. Helping people who cant help themselves. But when musicians are telling people who to vote for, I think thats an abuse of power. Youre telling your fans not to think for themselves, just to think like you. Rocknroll is about freedom and thats not freedom. I want my shows to take you as far away as possible from politics. Its supposed to be an escape from the world were living in. And you know the next president is going to be worse than Trump, right?

While no one was looking, Alice has been preaching the Gospel of redemption in his albums for a very long time.
At one concert, he came out on a huge scaffold and launched into “Vengeance Is Mine” from the “Along Came A Spider” album.
It’s powerful song and when he finished singing, he paused for a second and screamed “REPENT!!!”
The audience was stunned.
You could have heard a pin drop.
ACAS is full of his faith.

And then, on his Welcome To My Nightmare 2, he gave us this

Brutal Planet and Dragontown are both about sin, salvation and redemption.
Brutal Planet is one of his best songs and I was elated when he played it in a show, as he rarely does it live, anymore.

Alice always plays the bad guy onstage...but he also makes sure the bad guy gets his due punishment.
His shows are clever, subtle morality plays.
And just to lighten this up a bit, from the crazy “Special Forces”, I offer this, just because.

The album title is delightful.
:D
Like I said elsewhere, Alice and his band were MUCH better than Iron Maiden when they opened in 2012. The stage show was also better. To be fair, I've seen Iron Maiden three times and it was an off night for them, but they ARE Maiden: Alice and his band won the night. In fact one of the little DoodleBobs felt the same way.
What I liked about Alice live was that I didn't feel like I was getting something that was "forced." I felt like I got a genuine performance from the heart. I can't say I've had many of them my lifetime - the Scorpions, Zappa and The Who we're also genuine, as well as Judas Priest this last tour and a few smaller acts. Most of the time, though, I'm getting millionaires on autopilot - (what passes nowadays for) Van Halen and Metallica sit atop that throne. As Daltrey said, give me a bum note and a bead of sweat any day...that's what Alice delivers.
Alice loves doing what he does and has more fun than we do.
I think he’d still do it even if no one was there to watch.
