PHILADELPHIA (CBS) Could the secret to eternal youth be found in blood transfusions from young people? Some claim that transfusions with young blood from teenagers can reverse the aging process.
Its being tested in patients over the age of 35 as part of a clinical trial called ambrosia, where people paid $8,000 to get the rich growth factors found in bloods plasma platelets.
There are pretty much people from most states, people from overseas, people from Europe and Australia, Dr. Jesse Karmazin said.
Results of the trial have not been published.
Dr. Karmazin, who plans to open a business selling young blood, says patients whove had it say they feel amazing, and he says hes seen evidence of reversing the aging process in rats.
Their brains are younger, their hearts. Their hair, if it was gray, it turns dark again, he said

If it’s just a matter of growth factors, I can make those in the lab. The risk of disease from recombinant growth factors is nil.
Are they bottling semen as a rejuvenating face cream, too?
It used to be whether there were enough young workers to provide social security payments for old folks. Now it is are there enough young people to provide transfusions for seniors.
Unless Elizabeth Bathory faked her death and is still alive, I have my doubts about this.
Dr. Elizabeth Bathory could not be reached for comment.
Dang it, I took a minute to make sure of the spelling.
We have been discussing this over in the Q township for some time. It is more than just young blood. These people are sick.
Hmm, Nancy Pelosi, I’m guessing.
Literal Elizabeth Bathory.
Thanks bitt. If I thought this was anything other than snake oil, and I had the cash, I'd be in line right now. What will probably happen is, bllod that isn't from teens will be used more and more, and teens will be turning up dead and drained of blood.
Studies have been done showing all things being equal, the mortality rate is higher at one year for those who have received a blood transfusion over those who have not. This is not the fountain of youth and many be harmful.

If it’s a substitute for viagra the young folk can name their price.
Yes, indeed.
No.
The sick ones aren't getting the transfusions from teenaged volunteers.
They taking all the blood from much younger children, children trafficked from 3rd world countries.
Just in case you were wondering why certain elderly politicians are so adamant about not securing the borders, for them, it really is a matter of life and death.
Its not. Its an infusion of foreign material almost like a temporary organ transplant that raises inflammatory materials in the body and can do significant harm. If the idiots want to do this they will eventually find out the hard way its not a good idea.....
