Is that the one where Bruce Willis shouts “assf*ck” over and over?

Even Freepers don’t realize when they’ve been sold—and bought into—a degraded culture.

It drops to third.

1. The story of the birth of Jesus.

2. A Christmas Carol

3. Die Hard

Sorry, but I must disagree. Patton is the best Christmas movie and a true story to boot. The final battle scenes of the 3rd army relieving the siege of Bastogne on Christmas eve 1944 make it a Christmas movie

Sorry, never liked that one.

It seemed to me to be one long commercial.

I would like to know WHEN those prices were. I never remember prices below a dollar, period, at least since I paid attention.

If they go by movies having only part of their story at Christmastime, yeah, it’s a good one. Same with It’s a Wonderful Life. Sorry, the movie is mostly a biography, NOT at Christmastime.

There are an amazing number of movies that have good Christmas acts. Just found another yesterday, Great Rupert. Nice little Christmas part.

Movies should really be divided into several categories. Die Hard is not a Christmas movie (sorry), just all set at Xmas. Some might fit in that category. There are those that have scenes with it as above, and those which really have Xmas as the point of the entire movie.

My Dad was there w/ Patton’s 3rd Army Corps, 101st Combat Engineers, 26th Infantry, ending the siege in December. He was shot by a nazi sniper while saving 4 of his (SGT Combat Engineer) 33 man platoon in a blood covered, snow blanketed, farm field at Bastogne, caught in machine gun crossfire ambush. He survived D-Day, Central Europe, Northern France, Rhineland and Ardennes. Quite decorated - Bronze Star w/ 4 clusters, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medals, 4 Campaign Ribbons, Court of Valor (York, PA) etc - we just lost him at 94.

FTM Washington Crossing is the greatest, or anything featuring the attack on Trenton. That actually started Christmas night and finished the day after. And it was based on the idea of ambushing German Xmas revelers.

I do like “Trading Places”. Old movie though. I was telling my kids about the scene where Ackroyd dressed as Santa shoves a piece of salmon into his suit and pulls it out to eat on the subway. They had no idea what I was talking about. They are going to put the movie on their list of movies to watch. To them, that movie’s as old as “Gone Was The Wind” was to me when I was a young adult.
