The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds.
From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you.
This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks. No matter what, you wont be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked.
It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table(recipes)preserving, good living - there is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!
NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest are welcomed any time-and don't have to be about gardening.
Merry Christmas to all from west Michigan. I actually have a bushy Italian parsley patch that is STILL green and fresh looking, everything else frozen and dead. For Thanksgiving I cut some it was delicious on our potatoes.
Hello all , I have a rose bush and I am just looking for opinions on trimming it back while it’s somewhat dormant here in Louisiana.. MERRY CHRISTMAS all!
That’s kinda unusual is it not?
Rose lemonade sounds good. How do you make it?
Same here. We got ours a couple of weeks back. Hubby isn’t finished with it yet. I still have quite a few seeds left over from 2017, so I won’t be ordering too many if any.
Nice pic. I wish we had someone who lives close by to get fresh eggs from.
Carriage rides. We don’t have that around here (they do in St. Louis). We do have some old wagon hayrides now and then.
I had no idea that Italian Parsley could survive that much cold.
I’m not sure about timing in your area. We do fall and/or spring here.
Nice Pic. That’s a frameable one.
It was nice out today here in Central Missouri, but aside from running a few errands in town I was stuck inside on the computer doing work work.
We’re off to Branson on the 28th for some trout fishing and relaxation, and I don’t have to go back to the salt mine until January 2nd. I should be able to find a little bit of time to do some cleanup in the kitchen garden before we head down there.
Kids and grandkids are all coming here on the 27th for our family Christmas gathering.
Mrs. Augie, completely out of the blue, asked me today when I was going to start building a greenhouse. I think that means she wants me to build a greenhouse. Happy happy.
Sour cream pie? Sounds interesting.
Would you be willing to share the recipe?
Sour cream? As in sour cream & raisin? Can I come over? Pleeease?
The nail lady must have Ameraucana chickens (blue, green eggs). :)
We got some backyard chicks ( including Ameraucanas) and have many customers. Our girls are free range and we only feed them non-medicated food and add natural antibiotics from herbs. I can’t imagine buying eggs from a store again. Hope you enjoy your eggs as much as we do!
