It drives the price up so high you stop buying it. We tried Quinoa as a (reportedly) healthy alternative to white rice. We grew to enjoy it and then the price sky rocketed. They tried sob stories of poor third world farmers making their living raising the crop. We rarely buy it any more. My guess is the importers grew greedy.

Any doctor with any sense will tell you that genetics plays the biggest role in heart issues. Granted that diet will improve your heart but if the problem is in your genes then there is nothing which will prevent heart issues.

I discovered avocados earlier this year and I LOVE them. A week does not go by when there ISN'T a tub of homemade guacamole in the fridge.

I buy a bunch and brown bag them. When juuuust ripe, I split them, peel them and then freeze them...then when frozen I vac seal them. They keep for a good long time that way.

The liberal idea of healthy is tofu.

We’re all gonna die eventually so why not eat what we want?

Of course, you can’t outlive you genetic destiny.

On the other hand, I can’t do anything about it either.

But I can control how well I treat my body.

It’s the concept of ‘unclog’. Atherosclerosis is a complex process that involves many things, including inflammation, cellular and extracellular accumulation of cholesterol (humans cannot metabolize/degrade cholesterol), fibrosis, calcification, proliferation of cells, etc. Clearly a good diet is an essential part of trying to avoid developing atherosclerosis, but reversing it once it is established is not in any way a simple process.

I don’t know what you mean by “it”.

I would imagine that the "it" being referred to is avoiding heart disease.

“I don’t know what you mean by “it”.”

It = the reversal of atherosclerosis (i.e. ‘unclogging’ - as referred to in the title).

Yes. I had a heart attack last month, age 73. Have been eating healthy, and walked 4 miles a day. Cardio doc said that if I was not in good shape I , would not have survived. But he believes that history of my dad having heart attack at 65 was a possible factor. Recovering at home now.

High fat meat or any other saturated fat source is very good for all of your body (especially the brain and nervous system).

It is polyunsaturated vegetable fats that are oxidative and a source of inflammation.

Read Drs Fred and Alice Otoboni’s work.
