I saw a video recently which showed how after the shooting bunches of people in the area of the shooting had their houses paid off on Christmas day.

I live in Newtown, just a few minutes away from the Sandy Hook section of town. People here just want to move on from the tragedy. I don't think it needs to be "commemorated" year after year.
A week ago last Saturday, they had the Christmas Tree lighting in Sandy Hook, right down the street from where the school was (it has since been torn down and completely rebuilt from scratch). My wife and I were there. We did not hear a mention of it. Like I said, people just want to move past it.

The search engine Bing had a link to their “what happened today in history” section that listed Sandy Hook for this date. That link isn’t showing anymore, but there’s one regarding a bomb threat at a Sandy Hook school today. The school was evacuated.
