Actress and director Sondra Locke, who received a supporting actress Oscar nomination in her first movie role for The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, died Nov. 3 at 74. The Los Angeles County Public Health Department confirmed her death.
She died due to breast and bone cancer, according to Radar Online, which reported that she was laid to rest at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park & Mortuary.
Locke had a contentious relationship of more than a decade with Clint Eastwood, who first cast her in The Outlaw Josey Wales.

She was first diagnosed with cancer in 1990, so she lived a long time afterward. Somewhere I recall reading the same thing about her cancer some time ago. I honestly thought she had passed away in the 90s.

May she rest in peace.
I used to love her movies with Clint. She was cute and sexy.
Ahh, the good old days of Hollywood when there was nothing perverted or political in the movies. Just good entertainment.
To: Robwin
I agree with you that Arkin was robbed.

Just good entertainment...
Yep.

Wasn’t she the package Eastwood was supposed to deliver to the Feds so she could testify in the movie “The Gauntlet”? I watched that years ago, and really enjoyed it.

A well kept secret until it was dropped on the day that Eastward’s movie “Mule” was opening.

Arkin was excellent. He was positively creepy in Wait Until Dark.

She was cool. I had a bit part in Every Which Way But Loose. She sang a song with a band, and then the band I was in played behind Charlie Rich as he did “I’ll Wake You Up When I Get Home.” She was rather shy for a 34 year old starlet. Clint was friendly and fun.
