John Goodman may love Roseanne Barr, but he doesn't deem her a necessary part of "The Conners."
TMZ cameras caught up with the actor, who played Barr's husband on "Roseanne" and now her widower on "The Conners," and he was in great spirits about the Barr-free spinoff.
"It's so much fun, man. It's great," he said. "I hope we get a deal for next year. It's wonderful."
Goodman, 66, also admitted he hasn't kept in touch with Barr since "Roseanne" was canceled.

Goodman is kind of backstabby. If I was him, I would be too embarrassed to talk to Roseanne.
They all threw her under the bus. I used to like Goodman but not after this.
He looks like death not even close to warmed over.
They’re gambling on a second run. I don’t watch it but follow what the news reports on it.
Fakey story. What Goodman said was neutral - Roseanne is missed, but the show goes on. The online reporter highlighted the she will be missed part of the story. Whoever did the online story foregrounded the part about the show going on. He wasn’t really backstabbing her, and there’s no real story here, if I’ve understood this correctly.

What’s he going to say? It’s a paycheck for him and 200 other people who work on the show... what’s he going to say? It’s terrible? Be real, that would be backstabby.
Burn bridges with Disney, by bashing a show he is part of on ABC? I don’t think so.

This is a non story. Its not like he’s going to say anything bad about ABC or Rosanne’s firing to TMZ. Celebrities give empty responses to TMZ all the time.
Don’t watch it. Roseanne made all of them.

He should have just said it was great and kept on walking if he wanted to give a neutral response.
