Ive written more about Dicks Sporting Goods in 2018 than I ever thought I would. When the year started, we thought the company would have gotten the message that taking anti-gun stances wasnt conducive to profits, but it didnt.
So Dicks doubled down after Parkland and purged the rest of the AR-15s from its stores and then instituted a discriminatory policy against legal adults.
And its biting it right in the kiester, too.
In remarks made to the Goldman Sachs Retailing Conference and first reported by the Washington Free Beacon, CEO Edward Stack explained that the 3.9 percent decline in the companys sales during the third quarter could be partially attributed to its ban on the sale of assault-style rifles and on the sale of all firearms to customers under 21 years old both of which were implemented in the wake of the Parkland shooting in February.
Well I think its definitely a factor, and its nothing that we didnt anticipate, Stack said of the sales downturn during the call. As we put out kind of our guidance for the year and our earnings guidance for the year, we knew this would happen when weve made some decisions on firearms in the past and weve had a pretty good idea of what these consequences were going to be. We felt that was absolutely the right thing to do. We would do the same thing again if we had a mulligan, so to speak, to do it again.

Really, he anticipated they would end up closing stores but did it anyway? These guys are way too smart for me.
Couldnt have happened to a more deserving group of tyrannical s**tbirds.
I refuse to enter their store.
They oppose what I am, so I oppose them withholding dollars.
It may take a while but consumers are always right.
Dick’s needs to rethink gun policy and no matter what they wish corporately there are people who spend money on their favorite gun hobby, so Dick’s is a loser ultimately.

They should be referred to from now on as “Stupid Dick’s”
Local box store Fred Meyer (WA area) quit selling guns because of, you know, LV and all those other shootings. They figure they don’t want to add to the carnage - they were always high priced anyway. Did away with ammunition too.
Don’t make stupid business decisions that alienate your customer base.
They don’t deserve to stay in business. There are plenty of other places to go for outdoor stuff.
Runnings is a GREAT replacement.
Didn’t shop there often, but will never shop there again.
Oh I did buy a shotgun there.
me too
Moral of the story: Don’t be a dick.
You got it
“Well, he could’ve said: “it sucks to be a dick”.”
or.....it’s dick to suck! LOL
Shareholders should be able to sue management, they are making personal decisions and not the best decisions on behalf of the owners.
Only time I’ve bought from them was about 6 or 7 years ago when they had a sale on .22 bricks. Haven’t been back since.
I also think it could be said: don't be a Jeb {Bush!}
In case you don't know, it was Jeb Bush, who raised over $ 150,055,000 million dollar's, and actually said he didn't need the base of the Republican party. Gee, I wonder just how that worked out for old Jeb.
See: http://time.com/money/4231669/election-2016-money-spent/ Presidential hopeful Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor, suspended his campaign Saturday night (February 20th, 2016) after a crippling defeat in the South Carolina primary.
Bush had raised more than $118 million through the Right to Rise Super PAC and about $32 million directly through his campaign, ... An additional $55,000 came from Millennials Rising, another conservative super PAC.
$118 million+$32Million+$55,000.00 =$150,055,000 million dollars = LOSER.

I boycott the Dicks entirely since they knuckled under to the Commies, and I buy enough to notice.
