I was watching football this afternoon and listened to some of the names of the players and I said to myself, “Where were their grandmothers in the baby-naming process?”
Mom probably doesn’t know who the Dad is, and does not want him to know either. It’s like she’s naming her brand new yellow Canary shipped in from the Caribbean.
She can spend most of the child’s young years angrily correcting teachers, relatives, store cashiers, neighbors for not saying the entire long winded, pretentious phrase. Why doesn’t she just change her own name to something equally nutty? See how that feels.
My family thought my sister was odd for naming her twin girls Ashley and Astrid, maybe they’ll change their minds after reading this story!
