Well see, that’s my point, if I had to follow her, I’d still have to pay the consequences for her behavior.

So I’d probably take away her cell phone, TV, after school dances etc. Ground her for several weeks from all things she loves.

I’d still drive her to school, but I’d never shut up about it. I’d be crabby all the way. She’ be begging to walk.

IMO, five miles is too far for someone that young. I did 1.5 but I was older at that time.

2-3 miles would be the outside of my suggested range.

So, taking away the benefits might work better. BTW, I agree, following her puts him in jail with her, hardly a decent ending.

No, parents do NOT do the old “take away their cell phone”. These days a cell phone is a safety requirement. This irritates me to no end in my family law cases. That is the the worst thing the parent can do. It leaves a child vulnerable to God knows what. DO NOT TAKE AWAY THE CELL PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!
