An upstate mom blasted her dentist as Dr. Ignorant for telling her she needed to stop breastfeeding in an exam room.
Mother-of-two Tiffany Elliott, from Irondequoit in suburban Rochester, said she was beside herself after being shamed by her dentist, Dr. Robin Craig, for starting to breastfeed her 9-month-old daughter, Ember, during her older daughters appointment.
I had Ember cradled and one hand at the bottom of my shirt, with ZERO skin exposed. Dr. Ignorant then says, Ok Im uncomfortable and whatever you are doing there needs to stop!, while motioning around her chest with her hands frantically, Elliott, 30, wrote on Facebook Saturday. My jaw dropped you guys!
Elliott said she explained that based on a 1994 state law, she has a right to breastfeed her child in any public location.
Her ignorance and comfort level does NOT trump my babys needs, she wrote.
But Craig brushed it off, suggesting the family find a new dentist, Elliott said.
I CRIED you guys! she wrote. Anyone who knows me, knows that is NOT me! I felt so embarrassed. Not by the thing I love, which is nurturing my baby wherever and whenever, but by the total IGNORANCE of a society they breeds such clowns.

Now as a guy, and using this idiot’s logic, if I whip my hoo-hah out in public and start urinating, people should be just as accepting. Right??
I’m sure the “lady” wouldn’t have minded if the good doc had pulled out his erect male member and said “sorry, it was causing me discomfort constricted in my underwear.” Then carried on with his business.
doc is female
Dentist was a she.
The way this is written, you really have to read it carefully to glean that.
One woman calling another out.
...Craig brushed it off, suggesting the family find a new dentist...
BINGO
The woman dentist got a protest and death threats because she said she wasn’t comfortable and left the room. These are some mean moms.
Between the selfie and the article, I put her around (7,9.5).
That's definite danger zone material.
Didn’t catch that. Thanks. But it makes the story even weirder.
I agree. The dentist has an obligation to minimize “germs”, and possibly felt that the breast was potentially a problem from that perspective.
Personally, it seems like she might have tried to wait until the other child’s exam was complete or left the room out of consideration for the dentist and dental assistant trying to do their jobs.
Jeez, if one wants to be offended at a dentist, try looking at an $800 bill to pull a tooth. String, meet doorknob...
I breast fed....but when I went out, I took a bottle with me. All this public feeding is totally unnecessary. Why do these moms insist on making a spectacle of themselves?
The dentist should have asked if she’d like him to squeeze it so the baby could get every last drop. :)
Helping or even working with people has gotten harder and harder. Too damned many mental defectives and emotional basket cases
Thanks for sharing this additional info.
Sort of sounds like the mother is looking for a fight or a lawsuit. Maybe a GoFundMe, due to the trauma she endured.
It looks like the owner/founder of the dental practice made every effort to reach out and apologize for the incident, but that was not good enough for her and some whacko liberals that will now probably bomb his offices or something.
if I whip my hoo-hah out in public and start urinating,
These women dont a man to tell them what to do for any reason, even if they are making the man uncomfortable. A mans discomfort or rights are of no consequence to some women.
Prepare for the backlash.
There are breast-out activists here.
Theres always one or more morons on FR the try to equate feeding a child with the elimination of bodily waste.
I’m not talking about breasts from the male point of view.
