Maryland woman Denai Holly, 25, got into a 3 car crash and fled the scene. She was stopped by off-duty cop Chris Jordan, and when he tried to approach her, she accelerated. He hopped onto the hood to avoid getting hit. Then she sped down I-270 at 80mph with Jordan on her car. She's been charged with attempted manslaughter, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, was denied bond, and could face 50 years in jail.

Well, almost. Seems he has an attitude as well:
“Holly’s three sisters, and the father of her three children, exited the courtroom mumbling insults at the judge as tears streamed down their faces.”

>> “Some guy cuts you off and starts coming towards you...what do you do?” <<
Depends on what armmament is available...

Wine seems to keep me happy. Just sayin’.
Yep, eyes pretty damm$ed bloodshot.
Funny how you get more news from across the pond
That's a dead soul, there. Not a single photon of light in those eyes.
Are you as stupid as that statement makes you look?
BT-1000 again
He might be using sarcasm, Jim.
When this gets to trial, if ever it does, she will walk with time served, diversion program and some other related crap. Meanwhile the judge who denied bond will be described as racist in the local press.
Surprised at the reference to father (singular).
In WEST Virginia? SOB is likely to be lookin' at the business end of a .45!

No, I’m as informed as that statement indicates.
Drugs do not cure, nor do they fail to do massive harm.
Most of them greatly shorten life spans.
Natural substances exist to cure every disease condition without harmful side effects.
We have no need for manufactured poisons.
.
The judge should be described as incompetent in the local press.
The after-incident report should be interesting reading. If there is a lesson to me learned here, it is likely that the officer should have started shooting the driver before allowing the car to get close enough for the officer to have to jump on the hood. This driver risked the lives of the officer she was trying to shake off of the car hood and everyone else on the road, most likely after she caused the original collision which precipitated all of this. My guess is that the officer was justified in using deadly force much earlier but hesitated and was almost killed because of it.
Yyes, that is a fact. Had a sad, local story where a young boy drowned in a septic tank when mom and dad left him home alone. We could get zero info locally, but, on DM UK? All kinds of info and photos of the scene. Go figure?
Yeah, it's a wobbler for sure. According to the report posted on the article (page 1, really) he said he was driving his personal vehicle and that he identified himself as a police officer. The report states that it was at this point that the female driver accelerated toward him.
I would think that the PD would bring this up in court if he weren't in uniform. As you assert, if he wasn't in uniform she could state that she was in fear of her life.
Of course, being she was fleeing from the scene of an accident doesn't really help her convince anyone she was afraid of being carjacked.
I see nothing in her eyes but arrogance and entitlement.
Yes. The officer is the son of a local judge. Possibly even the one who didn’t allow bail. This is not over...and she will probably walk or get a slap.
