And that putz Marvin Lewis continues to thrive in Cincinnati. Lewis and Bengal management have made so easy for me to swear off the NFL.

Should have fired Mike Murphy as well...clean house and start over. Love my Packers but the wheels really came off the bus this year.

In other news, in this post McCarthy era, the sun came up, the birds are singing and the troubles of the NFL have very little impact on my life. : )

Sounds like a similar situation to the one the NY Giants faced a couple of years ago when they fired Tom Coughlin. He seemed to be coaching for a different era, and had no credibility as a coach anymore.

I think Aaron Rodgers is 35 - how much longer does he think he’ll be around??? 2-3 years?

As a LIONS fan, we’re used to losing, an 8-8 season, missing the playoffs, is the norm for our coaches. Sure, they eventually get fired after a few seasons but this guy has had a lot of success, including a Superbowl. Having one bad year is enough to get fired?!?!? If Aaron is part of the reason then he deserves to get his too...

...seems as though the wheels have come off, time for many years languishing...welcome to the club.

The magic was gone. I was time for a big change. They recently brought in a number of new assistant coaches. They also got rid of some players who had become distractions/problems. The GM is relatively new. There was only one change left: Head coach.

McCarthy controlled the offense and his play design/calling was unimaginative. The Packers as a team too often looked poorly prepared this year.

That said, I hope McCarthy gets a fresh opportunity in a new environment. He deserves that.

And Marvin Lewis still has another year on his contract with Mike Brown’s Bengals.
