Given the fullness of time, who would you vote for today?

Same now as then. Bush.

My decision was correct then, and it's still correct now, even though Bush did a lot of subsequent things to make me wish I had never supported him in the first place.

Clinton was human garbage. Bush was a doofus, but he was still better than human garbage. Much bad stuff would not have happened had Bush won instead of that piece of sh*t Bill Clinton.

Perot would have never run if Bush hadn’t turned out to be a flop.

This.

1992 was the year that I came to the conclusion that the media “news” services were deliberately manipulating elections. All i’ve learned since merely reinforces that initial conclusion.

No, I took no offense. I just noted that I’d used an exactly similar observation for said joke.

I told the joke. You didn’t. I’m hardly in a good place to be offended.

Oops, my bad!

I mistook which comment that was to!

I wasn’t offended by your actual post either.

Just reminiscing about my own attitude at the time. Sorry I wasn’t clear.

To take down Trump in 2020 all the Dem’s need do is find - and fund - a “moderate conservative” to run as an independent. John Kasich, maybe?
Remember John Anderson? He ran against Reagan in ’80, and got plenty of votes to turn any election since 1984 - but in 1980, he ended up being a footnote in Reagan’s landslide.

No problem... honestly I'm a bit confused but still no problem anyway.

I suppose in person this would be the time we'd buy each other a beer and laugh it up some. :)

1st: “the fullness of time” reminds me of a Rush tune, ‘The Garden’ ...”The measure of a life is a measure of love and respect
So hard to earn, so easily burned; In the fullness of time; A garden to nurture and protect” ...

2nd: I voted for Perot, PARTLY to help secure a desperately needed job with a dentist who turned out to be a whack job; but also because I liked his style and I didn’t like Bush at all. AT THE TIME, not knowing much about anything yet, I thought Clinton would be ok. He was young and had a good vibe.

Yeah, right. ....

Why would anyone vote for the guy who played pure spoiler and gave the WH to the Dems?

Perot only ran to stop Bush, whom he hated. He was a Clinton stooge that go Slick Willy elected.

By election day, Perot was a joke.

All that "Can I finish? Can I finish? Will ya let me finish?" stuff convinced me the guy wasn't serious.
