Colin Kaepernick supporters plan to rock the #ProBowlVote
NBC Sports ^ | December 1, 2018 | Michael David Smith

Colin Kaepernick hasn’t played in an NFL game in two years. Could he make his return this season, in the Pro Bowl?

That’s what some of his supporters plan to find out. This year the NFL is allowing fans to vote for Pro Bowlers on Twitter by using the hashtag #ProBowlVote and writing the name of the player they want to vote for. That means players don’t have to be on any official ballot to receive a Pro Bowl vote. They simply have to have their names tweeted. And Kaepernick has plenty of supporters on Twitter who have begun voting for him.

Is there anything more useless than the Pro Bowl?

The NFL should have done away with it, years ago. Nobody cares.

It's an all expense paid Hawaiian vacation with a scrimmage.

Most of the good players don’t even bother with it anymore.

It’s now like the meaningless college bowl games, more of the good players sit out because they don’t want to risk their NFL careers.

The Pro Bowl isn’t just useless. The risk of injury that could affect a player’s career just isn’t worth it. With that in mind, perhaps writing in Kaepernik is an excellent idea.

And yet it gets higher ratings than the NBA and NHL championship games, and even some World Series. the NFL juggernaut is sometimes frightening.

The Washington Redskins starting QB broke his leg a couple of weeks ago. Was surprised they didn’t put a call into Colin Kaepernick. Maybe they wanted a WINNING QB.

They switched the location to Orlando last year, IIRC.

Colin Kapernick is not playing football for one reason - he does not WANT TO play football.

He could have ended this nonsense at any time. Instead he doubled, then tripled, then quadrupled down on it.

They did? That’s really dumb.

Who would want to play if they are on one of the Superbowl teams and risk injury?

Even AFTER the Superbowl it was pretty much like touch football with falling down.

Players are voted into the Pro Bowl by the coaches, the players themselves, and the fans. Each group’s ballots count for one third of the votes. The fans vote online at the NFL’s official website. Players are required to be a member of the AFC or NFC conference teams to be eligible as that is the marker for player selection since 2017. Kaepernick doesn’t qualify. And the NFL doesn’t have an “Old Timers’ Game” which he does qualify for since he hasn’t played in a game for three years when the pro bowl is played in 2019.

Thats what makes it so stupid. Any player that made the pro bowl and will be in the super bowl doesn’t play for fear of injury. Some don’t even show up IIRC.

The nfl is sooooo smart.
