BTW- I still don't understand the point of rat rods. Can anyone explain?

My brother had one way back when I was going to Diesel Engineering school in 1971. It didnt run but the body was in good shape and I wanted to bring it to school and restore it to running order. The lazy cheap asshole wouldnt hear of it.
GD when I think of that I still get pissed off. Dumb ass sold it for 100 bucks and I tried my best to convince the asshole he could get a grand for it if I got it running. He only paid 50 bucks for the dam thing. The engine turned over.

He also had a 1929 Chev sedan that he did run for a few years. All original with the curtains and everything. He ruined that SOB by having a cheap paint job done on it instead of having a good body man doing it. Sold that for 1200.
Also, we were doing a timber cruise for an old lady one time up there and in her barn was a 1932 twin six Packard sedan up on blocks. We asked what the hell? She said when she was a little girl that they told her folks to make sure in was kept in the barn and dont tell anybody about it.
It was a mob car no doubt. They used to hang around the very North East part of Wisconsin and run across the state lines to get away from the cops. I have no idea what the hell ever happened to that car. No doubt somebody got it and its running since the dam thing only had about 300 miles on it.

I'm with you - always loved the look of the Willys....
Today, I like looking but the last time I drove even a '60s era vehicle, it just felt wrong after being in modern cars for decades.
