A closed system. Why is this even a surprise?

It’s not a closed system. They have the vacuum of space for removal.

Bleach seems to be a good way to kill bacteria. Makes me wonder if there are any strains immune to bleach.

Bleach seems to be a good way to kill bacteria. Makes me wonder if there are any strains immune to bleach. Cryptosporidia species are highly resistant to bleach, and are a significant cause of diarrhea in day care centers and schools. They can be killed by hydrogen peroxide.

Send up a hoard of microscopic Tardigrades (Water Bears that can reportedly survive the vacuum of space) and let them wreck havoc on the bacteria.

Haven’t they heard of BLEACH?

Nano silver. Not toxic or caustic to people and the residue keeps on killing.
