WHY THE #### DID THE PATRIOTS GET RID OF THAT VERY GOOD YOUNG BACKUP?!?!!
The kid with the Italian sounding name?
Brady IS 40. What is he, your franchise QB for the next 10 years?!!?
Ownership should have not let it happen.
Ownership demanded it. Brady was jealous and he had the owner force Belichick to trade Garappolo. Belichick showed his displeasure by giving him away for a song. Now they have a bag of balls as back up QB and Brady can be happy knowing that once he retires the Pats will stink and everyone will always pine for the good ‘ol days of Brady.
WHY THE #### DID THE PATRIOTS GET RID OF THAT VERY GOOD YOUNG BACKUP?!?!!
Garrapolo came along to early for the Patriots. Jimmy wanted to be playing. The Pats could not give him that. He has also been prone to injury as we see from his current situation.
The Pats will find a replacement at the right time. Maybe when Jimmiy is back next year, Nick Mullins will come to New England.
Do you want an answer?
1. He was in the last year of his contract.
2. He was going to be a free agent worth a ton, and the Pats could not afford to pay for two first string QBs. And Jimmy wanted to play.
3. They could not trade him, and get nothing in the end. Or, they trade him and get something out of itand everyone is happy.
The trade made perfect sense. It just was a shame to let him leavebut he was leaving anyway.
Patriots should have traded Jimmy G sooner.
They kept trying to negotiate with him until the end. By the time they traded him they got less value than they would have if they had traded him earlier.
Jimmy G was asking for over $20 million a year. They could not pay that. He got a huge payday in SF.
Jimmy G is fragile. He got injured early this year. Expect a lot of future injuries.
Brady is tough. Three years ago he took more hits than any other NFL QB. Played every game.
