A Fallout 76 player, RpTheHotrod, is roleplaying Preston, and quite impressively: not only did he use the character creator to design a convincing Preston lookalike, and outfit him with Preston-style clothing, he's playing audio clips from Preston's endless settlement quests over his mic to other players.
not sure how much further you can take this Preston cosplay: you can build bases in Fallout 76, but there's no settlement system due to the complete lack of settlers. But just approaching other players as Preston and giving them a good laugh (plus a deep sigh) seems pretty damn rewarding in itself. Hopefully we'll see more footage of Preston soon

LARP?....................
LOL, Fallout is one of my fave games. Ping me if you have a gamer thread. BTW, to Freeper non-gamers. Fallout has the best soundtrack and collection of songs which ranges from the 1930’s onwards.
Yes, i said “1930’s”.
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
Technically...it’s a thingy.
OLARP Thingy.................
The kids and I are bitterly disappointed in Fallout 76. We are going to replay the Bioshock series pretty quick. Maybe do Fallout 2 (very tough game).

Which is a shame because it just keeps getting more and more bug infested. And I don’t mean radroaches.
For me, the original Fallout was one of those iconic games that just mesmerized me. The opening sequence. The soundtrack. The novel game play. Everything.
I still listen to the Fallout soundtrack on my mobile device. I have Fallout 76 but haven’t had a chance to play it yet. I haven’t heard very good reports about it, though.
I don’t wanna be in a Fallout world overrun by pimply kids.
Single-player or bust!
I went to State of Decay instead. Screw Fallout until it returns to its roots.
Yeah, heard it’s bad. Why is it bad? I have a copy sitting on my desk awaiting download. What’s up?
So sad. What a franchise. We may replay Fallout 4 because one of the DLC’s glitched (Robot one).
Bioshock was epic. Loved that game.

Basically, it’s Fortnight. You kill each other. You band together to kill large beasts.
BFD. The story was the coolest part, and the thought they put into the companions.
Thanks!
My kid is addicted to it. I probably would be too, but he won’t give up the controller!
I have a 14-year old nephew who has ALL the Fallout songs on his Iphone. He and I got along because Fallout was the one game (unless it’s League of Legends) we play together. I’m in the same boat: I have Fallout 76 still wrapped.
Heck, I played Red Dead Redemption before I even think of F76.
“Basically, its Fortnight. You kill each other.”
Well, I could compare it to Battlefield V too..but it aint no Red Dead redemption. It’s the game of the year for me, and I played almost everything this year.
I miss Doom II...
Yeah, I gotta admit that after the original Fallout the sequels descended into these never ending fetch maddeningly tedious quests such as when you had to stop to build something but you learn you have to go back and retrace your steps to find the required components. Argh! The original had a theme and an over-arching mission. The sequels? Not so much.
