Teenage driver Sophia Floersch will undergo surgery for a spinal fracture after a spectacular airborne crash in the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix on Sunday.
The 17-year-old German tweeted: "Just wanted to let everybody know that I am fine but will be going into Surgery tomorrow (Monday) morning ... Update soon."

It looks like she got spun by the pink and white car. Comments on youtube said she did get spun by the pink and white car, but I have not been able to find the video.
This video does not show what happened. If you have another, please post it.
Nope. She rear-ended another and spun. Hit the barrier and lost two wheels then hit that car.
After reading other comments, I see it wasn’t her fault.
That was stunning to watch slow motion...
Having lost two wheels doesn’t help.
D9nt guess. Look it up.
I have not seen a full video so I do not know who is at fault. I just hope she recovers and has good health.
What do you mean? Look it up. I have searched this accident and I can find no more. Do you have more?
OK big guy, I m calling you out. What is “Look it up”?
After seeing another video of this incident, my only 2 questions are:
1) driver...or pilot?
2) how on *earth* could anyone survive?
If others have videos that show what happened and I will accept then. I have seen none so far.
Sad to see that but good to see that she’s okay. Formula 3 racing is really cool, especially from the perspective of car design. Good, productive class for discoveries with experiments in small shops.
Looks like some spectators were hit pretty hard. Hope they’ll be okay, too.
Racing too fast on narrow city streets, what could go wrong.
English man, English.
Forgot to hit the brakes for the turn.
“Thats one of the worst crashes Ive ever seen.”
Fernando Alonso Crash - Australia 2016
It is amazing Alonzo walked away from this crash. It was a high speed straightaway going into a sharp corner, similar to the F3 crash.

wi the slow-mo it's much better view than the one i saw on sunday looks like she musta run over a rear wheel to get launched like that
