Actually, my ancestral grandfather, Rev. John Roads, wife and six children were massacred by Indians in August of 1764, in an area called Fort Roads, Toms Creek, near Luray in the Virginia territory. Other children were taken hostage or escaped. Brutal and savage event, so Im not sure why everyone is trying to claim Indian heritage.

Wait a minute. How is that POSSIBLE? Are you 200 years old?
European settlers and aboriginals came into conflict, certainly. Almost all early European accounts of the American aboriginal peoples praised their character, intelligence, capabilities, and their physiques. They were fearsome enemies, but admirable individuals.
Isn't every grandfather ancestral? What else could he be, but ancestral? He sure can't be your descendant!
Perhaps the word you were looking for is "great-great-great-grandfather," or "great-great-great-great-grandfather," or "direct ancestor."
