I’m not sure why everyone is trying to claim Indian heritage.

European settlers and aboriginals came into conflict, certainly. Almost all early European accounts of the American aboriginal peoples praised their character, intelligence, capabilities, and their physiques. They were fearsome enemies, but admirable individuals.

From the historical and family lore handed down, I would find it difficult to consider the Indians who massacred my ancestors, including several young children, of “good character”. (Although, I do understand the Native Indian plight).
