taste is such an individual thing. What I modify and LOVE might make you or others gag
I tend to go cheese, high fat & savory. Bland food is boring to me. Love Indian, Lebanese, Thai.. of course the favs: mexican and Italian
Now’s a good time to tell you about what I am hoping can work out . wherever I light in the future.. my dream... Ive been just coasting for so long it is fun to dream and plan
Starting my own business.. Wine and Dine with Dolly. Lots to develop yet but have worked up 15 basic menus the people can chose from. I cook at their home. Use their cookware & serve on their dishes. would have a paid teen to help/do the cleanup
Dinner parties of 6 or more. Basic fee and so much per person. Food/wine would be ordered and delivered. hosts responsible for hard liquor/beer etc
Will do speciality wine tastings etc. Lots to work out but the menu part is
something I have been able to do here at hotel w/o wifi & just using my word processing program
will do speciality parties (like my fried green tomatoes party... also Gone with Wind, etc for ladies. Working on ideas for men ball game watching
just sharing what I hope might happen. I still am hoping to get the Norwex more firmly launched. It is such a good product that I believe in.
Cant do any of the living in a van. some dreams materialize and some don’t. but it is always fun to plan
Sounds great. With your love of cooking and determination I think it will be a hit.
That sounds perfect for you! I’m sure that business will be a hit if you can get it started. It will probably spread just by Word of Mouth once you get the first dinner party!
Couldn’t you do it from the van, since you would do everything from the person’s house? I suppose you would have to have a place to keep the food in the meantime between ordering it and bringing it to their house though. Not that I want you to live in the van, I just thought it might be a way of getting your feet on the ground a little quicker.
I love dreaming and planning. Without that there’s not much hope. I hope to have an online spice business someday. I’ve already developed the recipes and had a great time doing it. It’s prepper spices, stored in mylar for long-term storage. But it’s a blend so someone just needs to pick up there beans or rice and add the spice mixes. I have a chili bean, Cajun, jambalaya, red beans and rice, a taco mix, and a rub. All made with dried ingredients that will last and whole spices that will definitely last. Now, I just need to be able to lift more than 2 lb at a time and be able to use my arms repetitively for more than 15 minutes without pain! I haven’t seen anything out there on the web like this yet. Of course here I am laughing about it, but mainly because I don’t think I’ll ever be physically able to do the job. But like you, I was thinking I could hire someone to do much of it, but I’m not sure the profit would be there to make it viable.
Now yours should be quite profitable!
Sounds like a good plan and here’s hoping your dream comes true.
My DIL did something like this in Apollo Bay, AU.
What a wonderful idea! And the specialty nights sound like so much fun!
I used to think it would be fun to open a small restaurant. It would have cloth tablecloths, and no printed menus, just a chalkboard with 4 or 5 dishes being served that day.
Your plan sounds very doable. Would you cook in their home or cater it?
