Sounds fine to me.
I used to feed squirrels walnuts, when I was in college. They got to know me so well, that they came when I called them, even have pictures of them sitting in my lap and on my shoulders, happily eating walnuts.

When I see one in my back yard, I feed it .177 lead pellets delivered around 1,020 feet per second. For some reason, those little critters seem to prefer other food and don’t come around much anymore.
