Another classic being destroyed. I am so glad I avoid all things that come from Hollywood.

Another remake flop I’m relatively sure.

The book is a family favorite here, handed down through three generations.

Never saw the movie. Read the book!

The only remake I have seen that was worth anything was THE MALTESE FALCON, filmed in 1931, remade in 1941.

Sam Spade went from a smooth suave and sophisticated, bedding the ladies gentleman, to a wore down rough as nails private detective.

Well, at least now they can include some hard-core lesbian sex.

I really liked her in The Darkest Hour and Baby Driver. A true English beauty...

I’ve been waiting for a remake of this movie. Hope it’s good.

Just an FYI-Lily James is a really big Lefty. She may be pretty, but she has a dark heart.

This is proof that those in Hollywood are clueless drug addicts and alcoholics.

Hmmm. Yeah, remake "Rebecca". Let's see if we can improve on this cast:

to name just a few of that great crew. Everyone in that cast is truly stellar. Today's crop of actors wouldn't even make it as an extra under real directors and producers. And where is Hollywood going to find another Alfred Hitchcock to direct? Ha!

if you want to see her in a nice film, watch the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie society.

Hollywood could ruin Rebecca, but Lilly is an actress who lights up the screen in her roles.

She also played Natasha in the BBC War and Peace.

Books by Daphne du Maurier that were made into movies.

Jamaica Inn 1936

Rebecca 1938

Frenchman's Creek 1941

My Cousin Rachel 1951

The Apple Tree, Includes the novelette 'The Birds' 1952

I've read most of du Maurier's early books. Including these five and the movies made from them.
