Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, 85, fractured three ribs in a fall in her office Wednesday night, according to a statement from the Supreme Courts public information office.
Tests showed that she fractured three ribs on the left side, the statement said. She was taken to George Washington University Hospital.
Ginsburg has survived several fights with cancer and had heart surgery in 2014, according to CNBC. She has beaten pancreatic and colon cancer, the two deadliest forms of the disease.
People, especially younger people, were offering the octogenarian affectionately known as RBG their own ribs on social media Thursday morning. They even started the hashtag #RibsForRuth on Twitter.

I’m not going to say that you’re wrong because you aren’t; RBG is a villain in that and several other regards (and don’t get me started on McCain...ughh) but I can’t wallow in that mode 24/7, as if I’m any better. Their sins are no worse than mine.
I need mercy as much as they do.
Many liberals in positions of power and public trust are quite honestly Communists at heart. Millions upon millions have even died as a result of their political perfidy.
The consequences of their public policies and actions have brought untold misery and harm on people throughout this country and the world. They are responsible for the destruction of whole countries and their economies. Our own nation has been brought to the brink of real collapse by the political left.
Such people deserve no pity or quarter from those they've oppressed and damaged with their criminal governance.
Ruth Bader Ginsberg is a card carrying member of that murderous mob, and I refuse to extend the slightest wishes for a speedy recovery to her.
Agreed. I too a sinner with a foul mouth and temper.
But I am not an advocate of genocide, baby murderer.
May these types burn in the hottest parts of hell for all eternity.
Yup.. my wife’s grandfather hung around just long enough to see his great grand daughter after she was born.
With in a few days he was gone.
Years later his wife (grandma) lost a son to a heart attack. Weeks later, she was gone. When you decide you have done what you where placed on this Earth to do. The call home comes fairly quickly. Even if those left behind don’t realize what is happening.
Lefties volunteer their vital organs and such, but Ole Ruthie shouldn’t fall for it. They’re just ribbing her.
You invoked Michael Moore asd conjured up a horrifying image. My mind cannot now un-imagine it
I do not agree with Justice Ginsberg on many things, and I feel she has not been physically fit enough to sit on the Supreme Court for several years now, but I wish her no ill. She is old. She fell and broke bones. Back in 2001, the same thing happened to both my parents. My father lasted only about a month, and died in the hospital when everyone thought he was getting better, and would be released soon. My mother survived 2 months, was released and supposed to be on the road to recovery, when she died suddenly about a week after my dad. I fear some similar fate awaits Justice Ginsberg. I would urge her, in all compassion, to resign her seat on SCOTUS, and to spend her remaining days making her peace with God and her family.
Ginsberg is a widow. She’s gonna die in office.
Ok, may an organ or piano fall on her rather than a house! I’ll offer her my piano as I don’t have an organ.
...can have my ribs. And my kidneys and a lung...
I can not tell a lie.
I snuck up on her and pushed her down a flight of stairs.
In her condition you probably could of delivered a heavy breath exhale to her back.
Bingo VV. Those of us with Senior parents know the drill, I won't get into my experiences. Tangent to this is Rand Paul's broken ribs via his neighbor assaulting him as left him susceptible to recurrent pneumonia and my source on this was either his wife or the Senator being interviewed. Her's are cracked vs broken ( or so we are told ). If she is remotely in the same territory, and IMHO she looks like a frail senior, how does this work for the Country, and her and her family with her still on the SC?
#RibsForRuth... #GIBDARIB!!!
+.
I wish any ill on her but having her ribs bound up and reduced mobility is a leading way to get pneumonia. She should have retired five years ago.
Oh man an onion loaf with sauce sounds great right now
Sorry prayers up
Is there any sort of precedent for testing for a justices ability to do their job? I’m sure the left will keep her on life support indefinitely.
